FotoSketcher 3.98 alpha 3 available for testing

Hi all,

An early test version of FotoSketcher 3.98 is available for download here: https://fotosketcher.com/FotoSketcher_3.98_alpha3.exe

It is not yet fully optimized, but should be faster than alpha 1 and alpha 2.

This should solve a persistent and stubborn bug that has been reported by many Windows 11 users, where Painting 5, Painting 6 and Cartoon 1 effects would produce random horizontal lines.

Windows 10 users were unaffected.

As usual I would be grateful if you could give me some feedback on this alpha release :)

All the best,

David

Is there any plans to make a Mac version? I was a Topaz Impression user and would sure be interested in FotoSketcher for Mac.

If you have a relatively recent Mac with an Apple CPU (M1, M2, M3 or M4) you can run the Windows version of FotoSketcher using https://getwhisky.app/
I have tested and FotoSketcher runs well and fast on an M2 CPU.

Bonjour David, just a quick confirmation that 3.98 a1 is working without issue for me on Win 11 Pro 24H2.

Hi Mark, that's good news, thank you for your feedback!

Correction: sorry David, but after much more experimentation, painting 5 and cartoon 1 both produce horizontal lines, occasionally. I've tried single image productions, and images created with repeated use (F12), and the lines will appear in both situations.

Hi Mark, thanks for the heads up. I was made aware that the bug is still there (but not on all source images, which is baffling). I'm still looking for the origin of the issue.

Happy to report 3.98 a2 does not exhibit the random lines... as far as I can detect.

Great news, thanks! I will soon upload an optimized version that will be much faster for Painting 5 and 6.
