FotoSketcher 3.96 Release Candidate available

Hi all,

FotoSketcher 3.96 is now 99% ready.

Before the official release, you can already test it by downloading the release candidate (portable version, no setup) here: https://fotosketcher.com/FotoSketcher_3.96_RC.exe

I have tested in Windows 10, Windows 11 and MacOS with Whisky (https://getwhisky.app/) on an M2 MacBook Air and it worked flawlessly.

Unless a showstopper bug is found this RC version will be released officially very soon.

As usual, I am very grateful if you could let me know if you find any issues with this version.

A huge thank you to all the people who have helped me over the years, with testing, translating and supporting me on Patreon or via PayPal (I am very grateful for all the coffee!).

New user inteface

New Pencil Sketch 6 effect

All the best,

David

Looks good David (after just a few images...). Seems to be running very fast, no issues that I've encountered so far. (Win11Pro)

Thanks for the updates. Congratulations!

Hello David! i've been following the progress of the app for a while and ive been meaning to ask, do you have any tips to handle complex scenes where there are both background and characters in them while using sketch filters? I usually work with 3d models and the end result isn't as good as i'd like (example https://snipboard.io/hPj7kq.jpg). Thanks in advance!

Hi Victor,
I can think of a couple of tips that might help:
1. combine a couple of sketch effects using the "merge source and result images" (for instance Pencil Sketch 2 and Pencil Sketch 6). The workflow is as follows: use the first effect, then copy the result to clipboard. Now use the second effect on your souce image. Finally, paste the content of the clipboard as your first effect and merge the 2 sketches.
2. use the manual brush to process different areas of your image using different effects and/or different parameters
This will help differentiate the background (apply a coarser effect) and the characters (with finer details).
