FotoSketcher 2.40 Release Candidate available ***updated***

Hi all!

I now have what I believe to be a stable release of FotoSketcher 2.40. It does not have any obvious bugs that I could find and all the new features I wanted to add are now functional.

You can download the release candidate here: http://www.fotosketcher.com/FotoSketcher_240_RC4.exe

Here is a summary of all changes and additions in this version:
- script engine (press F5 to call the script window)
- more powerful image merge function (with multiplication of both images)
- improved interface (no third party code, reorganised menu and menu icons)
- DPI support for JPG images
- possibility to save a picture during processing
- better directory management (keeping track of current open, save and manual brushes directories)
- automatic saving of last texture, text and frame parameters used
- new translated terms (mainly for the script function)
- small bug fixes and improvements

If you would like to test the new script feature, you can download an example script here (right click and choose "Save link as..."): http://www.fotosketcher.com/Sketch_and_Emergence.fss

Here is an example using this script on a photo I took in Neath (Wales) last year:

Here is a second script you can download to give a comic book effect (right click and choose "Save link as..."): http://www.fotosketcher.com/Comic_book.fss

Here is the result on the same source image:

Should you find bugs in this Release Candidate, I would be grateful if you could let me know so that I can correct them before going live :-)

All the best,

David

Great news, thanks.

Off topic now - My Eset antivirus flags your site as being on a list of undesirables, I have to disable it to come here.

I've put in a complaint to Eset.. I don't know if they will pay any attention to it..

Hi Casey,
Thanks for the heads-up about ESET. I ran Virustotal on www.fotosketcher.com and only ESET came up with a problem. I checked my website and all seems OK, so it's probably a false positive.

I never had any doubts, mate..

I've emailed Eset to get them to remove your site from their database..

Good news, mate:

"I can confirm that the site detection was in fact a false positive and the block will be removed in the next update (within the next 1-2 hours.)

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Kind regards,

Gareth Billett
Customer Care Engineer - ESET UK"
