www.fotosketcher.com new responsive website

Hi all,

I have finally updated the FotoSketcher website to be responsive, with the help of my friend Martin (thanks, Martin!).

www.fotosketcher.com

More and more users now surf from phones or tablets and the old website was no longer adapted. This is also relevant as I am currently porting FotoSketcher to the Android platform.

So far, FotoSketcher on Android can :
  • take photos with the phone camera
  • open existing photos from the image gallery
  • zoom in or out on the photo
  • apply simple image filters (sharpen, Gaussian blur, contrast and brightness)
  • apply a simple pencil sketch effect
As you can see, there's still a lot of work to do :)

I'll keep you posted and for those of you who want to test it, I will upload an apk file in the next few weeks.

All the best,

David

David,
I wonder if you could find some source of inspiration from this post on the Wolfram Blog: http://blog.wolfram.com/2016/05/06/computational-stippling-can-machines-do-as-well-as-humans/

It's about certain mathematical techniques to emulate pointillism and impressionism.
Of course these appear to be very computing intensive algorithms, but... who knows?

Thanks for the good job, by the way.

Hi Peltio,

Thank you very much for this interesting link. It was fun reading and did give me a few ideas. I had in the past looked into Voronoi diagrams and I will probably experiment with them sometime!

Cheers,

David
